Sunshine for our first Supported Cycle Ride!

This Sunday five of us headed out from Brinnington to take part in the Manchester SKY ride, completing a round trip of 22miles!

Despite forecasts for rain the sun shone on us all day and we were able to fully enjoy the Manchester Cycleway, Reddish Vale and the SKY ride (closed road) routes.

This was the first of many weekly supported cycle rides being run by H3 for homeless residents and volunteers. The rides are aimed at providing therapeutic activities for groups and families, especially focused on the weekends. We hope that many of our residents will become cycle leaders and repairs and maintenance volunteers themselves, we have a few people ready to train already!

We had a fantastic day, spending time outdoors, challenging our fitness and joining in with thousands of cyclists from across Greater Manchester.

If you want to organise or come on a ride, or train to do repairs and maintenance on our bikes, just contact Molly on molly.bishop@stockporthomes.org. Rides will be organised to suit different levels of ability and cycle confidence.

With big thanks to the team at CERA Cycloan for providing us with such a high-standard service and training to enable us to get to this stage.
